Transcend 95/60 MB/s U3 256GB SDXC Memory Card Review

Introduction

The Transcend 95/60 MB/s U3 card offers UHS-I performance with a UHS Speed Class 3 speed rating for demanding DSLR and video applications. According to Transcend, the card is rated 95MB/s read and 60MB/s write speed. The card is suitable for HD and 4K video thanks to its U3 designation which means it can sustain at least 30MB/s continuous video recording. The Transcend 95/60 card is available in 64, 128 and 256 GB capacities. This review covers the 256GB size SDXC card (TS256GSDU3). The 128GB and 64GB cards were tested previously.

Transcend backs their memory cards with limited lifetime warranty. The 256GB card tested for this review is marked made in Taiwan on the back side.

Performance

In benchmark testing the Transcend 95/60 reached up to 96.6 MB/s sequential read speed. The highest sequential write speed measured 69.0 MB/s, comfortably above specification. The speeds are similar to the speeds found in the 64 GB and 128 GB capacity Transcend 95/60 MB/s cards.
