Introduction

Delkin Black Series memory cards offer enhanced durability for the most demanding applications. Delkin Black SD cards are UHS-I U3 speed rated and backed by a lifetime warranty with free 48-hour replacement. Delkin claims the card can withstand up to 45lbs of force. The card is waterproof and dustproof, and will operate in extended temperature range from -40°C to 85°C.

Externally, the Black card looks like an ordinary SD card. On close inspection a difference can be seen in write protect slider which is fitted over grooves in the top and bottom of the case, rather than retained by a narrow slot between the case halves. When attempting to flex the card, it feels more resistant to bending than most SD cards.

Delkin claims Black Series SD cards offer transfer speeds up to 99MB/s. The card is UHS Class 3 (U3) speed rated meaning it can sustain at least 30MB/s continuous write speed for recording 4K video.

Delkin Black SD cards are available 32, 64, 128GB capacities in full-size SD cards, while microSD cards are available in 32 and 64GB capacities. This review is for the 32GB SDHC card (DDSDBLK-32GB).

Performance

In UHS 3.0 card readers, the Delkin Black 32GB SD card was benchmarked at 97.7 MB/s highest sequential read speed and 81.9MB/s sequential write speed. This is essentially the same performance as the Delkin Elite 633x 32GB card, and the read speed is very close to the claimed transfer rate of 99MB/s.
