Kingston Canvas Go! UHS-I V30 64GB SDXC Memory Card Review

Introduction

Kingston's new Canvas SD card line was released in 2018. Their new brand includes the Canvas Select, Canvas Go! and Canvas React. The mid-level Canvas Go! is a mixture of performance and value, brining 90MB/s read and 45MB/s write speeds according to Kingston. The card is V30 rated to provide at least 30MB/s continuous write speed for recording HD and 4K video.

The Canvas Go! card is available in 32, 64, 128, 256 and 512 GB capacities. The 64GB SDXC card SDG/64GB with UPC 740617276008 is covered in this review. Kingston backs the card with a lifetime warranty.

Performance

The Kingston Canvas Go! 64GB SDXC card was tested in USB 3.1 and 3.0 card readers. In benchmark tests the Canvas Go! measured up to 98.5 MB/s sequential read speed. This is better than the 90 MB/s that Kingston advertised. Benchmarks for sequential write peaked at 88.3 MB/s, much better than the 45MB/s write speed claim and faster than the higher-tier Canvas React card.
