Panasonic Gold Series 95/90 UHS-I U3 64GB Review

Introduction

Panasonic's Gold Series 95/90 MB/s 64GB SDXC card offers UHS-I support and is rated UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) for 4K video recording. The U3 rating assures the card can sustain at least 30 MB/s (280 Mbps) continuous write speed. The card uses multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash memory for its superior durability, higher access speed compared and lower error rate compared with TLC memory. The card is rated at 95MB/s read and 90MB/s write speed, ideal for continuous burst shooting as well as video. Gold Series SDUD cards are offered in 32, 64 and 128 GB capacities. The 64GB SDXC card (SDUD64GAK) is tested in this review.

The card is marked Made in Taiwan on the back.

Performance

The Pansonic Gold Series 64GB SDXC card was benchmarked using USB 3.0 card readers. The maximum speed measured 98.5 MB/s sequential read and 88.3 MB/s sequential write. The read speed surpassed the 95MB/s rating, but write speed was just short of the 90MB/s advertised for the card.
