Patriot EP Series UHS-I V30 A1 128GB microSDXC Memory Card Review

Introduction

The Patriot Extreme Performance EP Series UHS-I V30 A1 128GB SDXC card is an update to the previous EP Series card and adds the new Video Speed Class V30 rating in addition to the App Performance A1 rating. The 128GB capacity card offers capacity for extended video shooting. The card is rated for read speeds up to 100MB/s and write speeds up to 80MB/s. The EP Series cards are available in 64, 128 ad 256GB capacities. The 128GB capacity micro SDXC card (PEF128GEP31MCX) with UPC 0814914024799 is tested in this review. The card is covered by a 3-year limited warranty. The card is made in Taiwan.

Performance

In benchmark tests the Patriot EP Series A1 microSDXC card measured up to 99.6 MB/s sequential read speed. This is right at the 100MB/s quoted read speed. Maximum sequential write speed reached 82.8 MB/s, which is just above the 80MB/s write speed rating. The random 4K read and write speeds also exceeded 1000 IOPS, showing it meets the A1 performance rating.
