SanDisk Extreme 150MB/s UHS-I U3 V30 64GB SDXC Card Review
Introduction
The SanDisk Extreme 150MB/s UHS-I U3 V30 64GB SDXC is the latest version of SanDisk's performance-oriented Secure Digital card line. The Extreme was updated in late 2018 with a faster read speed of 150MB/s, however this speed can only be achieved by using SanDisk's proprietary card reader SDDR-C531. In other card readers the card must obey normal UHS-I speeds which mean it can't exceed 104 MB/s. Write speed is advertised at 60 MB/s.
The Extreme 150MB/s card is ideal for recording 4K video that requires a Video Speed Class V30 rating. The V30 and UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) ratings mean this card can sustain at least 30MB/s continuous write speed. Extreme 150MB/s UHS-I U3 V30 cards are produced in 64, 128 and 256 GB capacities. This review covers the 64GB capacity SDXC card with model SDSDXV6-064G-ANCIN with UPC 619659170677. SanDisk covers the card with a lifetime warranty.
Performance
Performance of the Extreme 150MB/s 64GB card was evaluated in memory card readers. Benchmark tests reveal a maximum sequential read speed of 154.3 MB/s, which was reached in SanDisk's own card reader. The read speed dropped when tested in other card readers, where the card performed up to 99.3MB/s sequential read. The maximum sequential write speed was 67.3 MB/s.
