SanDisk Extreme 90MB/s UHS-I U3 V30 64GB microSDXC Card Review

Introduction

The SanDisk Extreme 90MB/s microSDXC cards offer high performance. The latest version of the card now wears the Video Speed Class V30 rating, a new designation for cards that can maintain at least 30MB/s continuous write speed. The Extreme 90MB/s cards are rated 90MB/s read speed and 60MB/s write speed. The cards are available in 16, 32, 64GB and 128GB sizes (the 16GB has only 40MB/s write speed and lacks the V30 rating). Performance

The 64GB SanDisk Extreme 90MB/s V30 microSDXC card was tested in USB 3.0 card readers. The highest sequential read speed was 99.6 MB/s. Its sequential write speed reached 72.5MB/s. These are well above the 90MB/s read and 60MB/s write speeds advertised by SanDisk. The 64GB card performed similarly to the 32GB version of the same card. The previous generation 64GB Extreme 90MB/s microSDXC card did not perform as well, reaching only 92.8MB/s read and 43.7MB/s write speeds.
