Toshiba is a pioneer and leader in Secure Digital memory cards. The Exceria Pro N502 is the flagship SD card offering up to 270MB/s read and 260MB/s write speeds, along with a Video Speed Class 90 (V90) rating to deliver at least 90MB/s continuous write speed. This makes the card suitable for 8K video recording. The card is also backwards compatible with UHS-I devices and operates in SDR104 mode to provide up to 95MB/s read and 95MB/s write speeds. The Exceria Pro N502 card is produced in 32, 64, 128 and 256 GB capacities. The Exceria Pro N502 64GB SDXC card model THN-N502G0640A6 with UPC 4547808810111 is covered in this review. The card is made in Japan is covered by a 5-year warranty.
The Exceria Pro N502 64GB SDXC card was tested in several UHS-I and UHS-II card readers. The benchmark results show the card measured up to 278.4 MB/s maximum sequential read speed. This is slightly better than the 170 MB/s read speed rating. The card attained a sequential write speed of 252.6 MB/s in the benchmark tests. This is slightly below the 260 MB/s maximum write speed quoted by Toshiba.
In UHS-I mode the card measured up to 95.5 MB/s sequential read and 93.7 MB/s sequential write speeds.
In these tests the N502 card had read speed issues in two USB-C SanDisk card readers.
