The SanDisk Extreme 60MB/s UHS-I U3 memory card offers performance and value. SanDisk claims it offers 60MB/s read and 40MB/s write speeds. The label displays the new UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) designation, meaning the card can sustain at least 30MB/s continuous write speed for recording 4K HD video streams. The card also exceeds SD Class 10 for supporting at least 10MB/s read and write speeds.
The Extreme 60MB/s carries a lifetime warranty from SanDisk. As of the time of this review, it is offered in 16, 32 and 64GB capacities. Here we review the 64GB version. The Extreme 60MB/s 32GB was previously reviewed.
We test the SanDisk Extreme 60MB/s 64GB SDXC card using a variety of SD card readers and cameras. Read speed in card readers was above specification at just over 70MB/s in all readers. Write speeds were also faster than advertised, reaching 52MB/s in card reader benchmark tests. These speeds are impressive, but are slightly below the results measured using a 32GB version of this card.

In actual camera tests the Extreme 60MB/s 64GB card performed well. In cameras such as the Canon 6D and 70D it provides just about the performance necessary for the cameras' capabilities. For many digital cameras this is about all the speed one would need. Only the very fastest cameras would benefit from a faster card.
