SanDisk Extreme Plus 150MB/s UHS-I U3 V30 128GB SDXC Card Review

Introduction

The SanDisk Extreme Plus 150MB/s is a high-performance UHS-I SD memory card. The card is U3 and V30 rated and provides at least 30MB/s write speed for continuous video recording. The maximum read speed is up to 150MB/s when used in the SanDisk SDDR-C531 UHS-I card reader. In other readers the card will perform up to around 99MB/s read speed. Write speed is advertised at 70MB/s.

Extreme Plus 150MB/s cards are available in 64 and 128 capacities. The card tested here is the 128GB capacity version model SDSDXW5-128G-A with UPC 619659170479. This card is backed by SanDisk's lifetime warranty. The card is made in China.

Performance

The Extreme Plus 150MB/s 128GB memory card was benchmarked using a variety of card readers. The highest sequential read speed recorded was 150.8 MB/s using the SanDisk C531 card reader. Benchmarks in other card readers were 99.2 MB/s and below. The maximum sequential write speed was 88.4 MB/s, comfortably above the 70MB/s card rating. As with the 64GB version of this card, the write speed in the SanDisk C531 reader was lower than other readers.
